Turkey’s carpet industry is highlighted at the Imperial Pavilion alongside the Blue Mosque. The Vakiflar Carpet Museum houses a beautiful collection of about 60 carpets and kilims dating from the 14th Century to the present day. All are considered masterpieces, with intricate patterns in rich reds, yellows, blues and greens. Among the most outstanding are large, bright Usak carpets made by craftsmen in western Anatolia in the 16th Century for mosques and the Ottoman Court.
