A renovated Roman bathhouse is home to the small Side Museum. The building, opposite the town’s Roman theatre, dates back to the 5th Century. It was restored in 1960. Exhibits are displayed in five rooms that originally made up the baths’ cold area, steam room, hot section and washing area. The museum’s collection includes ancient statues, friezes, amphorae, altars, tombs and columns from the Greek, Roman and Byzantine eras. Most were discovered in Side between 1947 and 1967.
