The sumptuous home of the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts dates back to the 15th Century and is the former palace of Ibrahim Pasha. More than 40,000 exhibits include a stunning collection of Turkish carpets - some of which are more than 800 years old. Other highlights include beautiful tiles, religious art from the Ottoman Empire, illuminated Korans and notable examples of Islamic calligraphy. Nomadic tents are among items on show in a section of the museum devoted to assorted Turkish lifestyles.
