The Museum of Anatolian Civilisations is one of Turkey’s finest museums. It is devoted to the development of Anatolia’s many cultures from the Stone Age to the Classical era. It includes a stunning collection of Hittite and Urartian antiquities, widely recognised as the greatest of its kind in the world. Prize exhibits include Neolithic pottery, bronze sun discs, Hittite sculptures and Greek and Roman jewellery. The museum is housed in a 15th Century Ottoman market hall. More artefacts, including sculptures and amphora, are on display in the museum gardens.
