Finds from throughout the Adana region are on show at the city’s Archaeological Museum, one of the ten oldest museums in Turkey. Highlights include a lifesize bronze sculpture and a marble sarcophagus depicting the Trojan wars. Another stone coffin depicts Medusa. Exhibits from the early Ottoman period include pottery, oil lamps, figurines, glass, tiles, coins, jewellery and a mosaic of Orpheus. A stone carving of a lion from the Hittite period is on display in the museum garden, along with altars, columns and inscriptions.
